At the onset of this project, I had been looking at rendering the dynamics of spiral motion. This piece has four nested layers of spiral motion, two moving clockwise and two counter-clockwise. This can be readily seen from the overhead shot. It is representive of the torodial, or inverted-sphere, geometry of vortex motion that composes the Earth's field (as rendered here).
