A meditative space for contemplating sustainable environmental restitution. The space was adopted due to the large amount of slag and waste it contains. Foreign rock has been unearthed and piled in various forms.
Summer solstice 2003 brought flood waters that bespoke of a mythological, and ornery, water elemental. All topsoil was cut away and the stream completely altered. The flood waters, almost consciously, respected our gate to the space and didn't move the loose wood and rock that comprised it.

In its passage, the 'water elemental' dug a deep hole. The transference to the space was as though something had been summoned.

This grave-like cut revealed the stratified layers of slag and waste, leaving a clear note for future work done on the site.
